Apple Baker Recipe
-
1 apple, cored (peel if desired)
-
¼ cup sugar
-
½ tablespoon flour
-
1 teaspoon cinnamon
-
¼ cup melted butter
-
¼ cup chopped walnuts
-
1½ tablespoons water
Preheat oven to 375 degrees.
Wash, dry and core (peel if desired) an apple.
Mix sugar, flour and cinnamon in a bowl. Roll apple in melted butter, then in sugar mixture.
Place on center post of Apple Baker and pour remaining butter and water into base of baker.
Bake 30 - 40 minutes (or 2 - 3 minutes on high in microwave) until apple is soft but not mushy. Remove very carefully from the oven and baste with the juices in the baker. Serve with a side of vanilla ice cream, if desired.
You can also use pie crust to cover the baker and create a single serving apple pie. Or change it up by paring down an Apple Crisp recipe to fit into the baker.
Speaking of pears, why stop at apples? Try a baked pear. Perhaps a plum?
